Tonight

Candlelight,
And the scent of something
I have never known before,
     But which is so familiar…
    
I feel the need to drown in it.

Moments pass, and I am unable to move.
Transfixed,
Held captive…
Your eyes are a prison
And I have no wish to escape.

Are you speaking to me?
I hear only my heartbeat,
     And the sound of moonlight.

How much time has passed?
Should I beg for the privilege of surrender?
The torture of
Waiting for your lips
Makes each moment an agony
I can not live without.

Love?
Who knows?  Or cares?
It is this power that you hold over me…
Be it lust or love or magick,
     It is all I ever wanted.
