Blossoms strew the path
From "I do!" to our escape.
Lights out. Falling clothes.

Flight at day's first light
Check in weary, gleeful.
Door sign: Don’t disturb!

Long strolls. Luscious meals.
We buy gifts for each other.
Each the other’s gift.

Mornings in cafes.
Afternoons in museums.
Nights—passionate nights!

We play on the beach.
I splash you in the cool surf.
Brush away the sand.

Dance the dark away.
Still up when the sun appears.
Spend the day in bed.

Long flight home: our home.
We readjust to fresh lives
As husband and wife.
